Cooking: Russian
23rd January 2013
Come and spend a chilly Wednesday evening after work in our cozy real supperclub kitchen, learning to cook new recipes and eating them (and taking some home too!)
Ahead of our very popular Russian supperclub, we will be teaching you to make a selection of Russian dishes that cover a range of uses, from those that will wow at a dinner party to an everyday supper with left-overs to take to work during the week.
On the menu will be:
Blini - the little (or large, depending how greedy you are!) pancakes on which we will serve our
Beetroot cured salmon - this is a real dinner-party dish, beautiful, elegant, and oh-so-easy when you know how!
Borscht - we will do this Ukranian style so it has a lot of other vegetables other than beet and (optionally) beef. It's a great one-pot dish, more like a stew really, and is great to take to work the next day!
Cotelette and Kasha - the homely Russian equivalent of "burgers" that are very tasty and served with buckwheat which makes a nice change from rice or potatoes in our diet! Good hearty supper food and quick and easy to make too.
Apple Sharlotke a yummy Russian apple cake to round off the meal!
The max class size is 4 people. Start time 6.30 pm (location 5 mins from Dalston Junction tube). We'll eat some for dinner and you can take some home too!
Cost will be £50 including a donation to MSF.
